Hello, I'm Juyoung Kim

Product engineer in San Francisco building consumer AI, computer vision systems, and immersive XR.

Juyoung Kim

I'm a Software / Product Engineer based in San Francisco. I want software that feels like magic and doesn't fall over.

I spent three years on data pipelines at Wells Fargo, where the job was zero data loss at enterprise scale. My own projects live at the other extreme: immersive apps for Apple Vision Pro and a computer-vision system that scouts MMA fighters from broadcast tape. Now I'm the Founding iOS Engineer at Second Nature Computing, building Poppy, a consumer AI assistant.

I'm looking for a Founding Engineer or Product Engineer role at a startup where I can own the full stack, from the database to the UI.

Selected Work

TAPE

The deep dive. A solo-built system that turns ordinary MMA broadcast footage into verified fight analytics: a five-layer computer vision pipeline, a human review tool, and a live product site where every stat links back to the tape.

Poppy

The day job. Poppy reads your calendar, email, messages, and health data, then flags what matters before you ask. I build the iOS app.

SHARP Memories

The nostalgia product. A cross-platform app that makes a 3D Gaussian Splat out of a single 2D photo. An event-driven serverless pipeline (Supabase + Modal) delivers the result to an iOS App Clip, so recipients can view it without installing anything.

Immersive Watch Party SDK

The SDK. VR is isolating, so I fixed it. I built an SDK that syncs AVPlayer instances across devices alongside Spatial Personas and packaged it as a drop-in binary framework. Apple still hasn't shipped this for the Vision Pro.

Vantage

The passion project. I'm a huge UFC fan, so I built a combat sports streaming app for spatial computing. Watching MMA on Vantage feels like sitting in the arena, and with the Watch Party SDK you're sitting there with friends.

Wells Fargo Infrastructure

The foundation. Three years migrating legacy ETL pipelines to Google Cloud. That's where observability, testing, and graceful failure handling got drilled into me.
